O sinal que vem do alto/The signal that comes from above

Dizem que o povo cubano não vai conseguir se libertar do comunismo porque está completamente desarmado. Mas há situações que podem ser mais decisivas que as armas. Senão vejamos. 

Não adianta uma ditadura se manter com farto estoque de mentiras e bravatas. Chega o dia em que, de tanto faltar comida, remédios e liberdade, os mentirosos começam a ficar escassos também. É quando a verdade vence, e o povo toma as ruas. Foi o que aconteceu com o primeiro e maior império comunista da História - a URSS(União das Repúblicas Socialistas Soviéticas) - que desmoronou diante do clamor popular, sem que um único tiro fosse dado.

Pouco antes disso, no dia 28 de maio de 1987, um jovem alemão de 19 anos resolveu sair para "passear", pilotando um Teco-Teco(aviãozinho) da Alemanha Ocidental(capitalista), passando por países da "Cortina de Ferro" sem ser notado, até adentrar os céus da URSS. Ao sobrevoar a capital, Moscou, o garoto decidiu pousar sem cerimônia e inadvertidamente no meio da Praça Vermelha, ao lado do Kremlin - sede do governo federativo - e à vista dos curiosos.

O fato inusitado aconteceu sem que o soberbo e complexo sistema de segurança estatal soviético se desse conta, por meio de seus poderosos radares, da proesa do piloto Mathias Rust e seu monomotor. Quando isso aconteceu, lembrei-me da pomba que Noé soltou, da Arca, em busca de um sinal que indicasse o fim do Dilúvio. Entao pensei comigo: Epa, ai tem coisa!

Quatro anos depois, a confederação formada por 15 repúblicas socialistas lideradas pela Rússia foi dissolvida formalmente, no dia 26 de dezembro de 1991. Esse é o tipo de coisa que acontece quando Deus quer que aconteça e do jeito que Ele quer, para mostrar ao Mundo quem realmente tem o Poder. Então alerto: com Cuba pode não ser diferente, desta vez.

They say that the Cuban people will not be able to free themselves from communism because they are completely unarmed. But there are situations that can be more decisive than weapons. Otherwise let's see. 

It is no use for a dictatorship to maintain itself with an abundant stock of lies and bravado. The day comes when, with so much lack of food, medicine and freedom, liars begin to become scarce too. That's when the truth wins, and the people take to the streets. This is what happened with the first and greatest communist empire in history - the USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics) - which collapsed in the face of popular outcry, without a single shot being fired. 

Shortly before that, on May 28, 1987, a 19-year-old German boy decided to go out for a "walk", piloting a Teco-Teco (small plane) from Western (capitalist) beyond, passing through countries of the "Iron Curtain" without be noticed, until entering the skies of the USSR. While flying over the capital, Moscow, the boy decided to land unceremoniously, and inadvertently, in the middle of Red Square, beside the Kremlin, seat of government, and in full view of onlookers. 

The unusual event happened without the superb and complex Soviet state security system noticing, through its powerful radars, of the prose of pilot Mathias Rust, with his single engine. When that happened, I thought of the little white dove that Noah released from the Ark, looking for a sign that would indicate the end of the Flood. Oops, there's something!

4 years later, the confederation formed by 15 socialist republics, led by Russia, was dissolved. This formally happened on December 26, 1991. This is the kind of thing that happens when God wants it to happen and however He wants it to, to show the World who really has the Power. So I warn you: with Cuba it may not be different.
