Entre os anos de 1977 e 1986, a TV Cultura de São Paulo, apresentava o programa Vox Populi. Nele foram entrevistados diversos ícones do espectro cultural brasileiro, a exemplo do sociólogo Gilberto Freire, da poetisa Cora Carolina, e do dramaturgo Alfredo Mesquita.

Em edição de 1984, o Tak Show apresentado pela jornalista Sílvia Poppovic entrevistou o escritor Jorge Amado. Na oportunidade ele disse algo muito interessante do ponto de vista ideológico. Declarou que no tempo de militância comunista pensava com a cabeça dos outros. Nada a estranharse o consagrado romancista não acalentasse ideias revolucionárias, como deputado do PCB na Assembleia Nacional Constituinte de 1946 e grande admirador do ditador soviético Josef Stalin.

Como um intelectual de esquerda tão atuante na política confessa que pensava com a cabeça dos outros? Essa não é uma situação confortável, ainda mais para um escritor de grande sucesso como Jorge Amado. Então, esse é o ponto: deixar-se levar pela opinião dos outros parece nada mais que não ter coragem de se afirmar com sua própria opinião, naquilo que realmente interessa sobre as coisas e a vida. 

Ao perceber a grande contradição política que vivia, o autor de Capitães de Areia e Gabriela Cravo e Canela decidiu pensar de maneira autêntica, daquele momento em diante, e consequentemente abandonou a militância ideológica radical. Assim, Amado mostrou sua verdadeira grandeza. Eu penso então na sorte de uma significativa parcela de nossa juventude que está perdida em salas de aula e jardins fumegantes das universidades, principalmente as públicas. 

Portadores de uma perversa "carteirinha" cultural de acesso ao "Clube dos Donos da Verdade", autômatos do marxismo cultural sobrevivem atônitos com a realidade que os cerca, fechados no ambiente fétido de seus quartos. Que Deus sopre sobre eles para que voltem à vida das pessoas normais, e para alegria dos pais.

Between 1977 and 1986, TV Cultura de São Paulo presented the Vox Populi program. In it, several icons of the spectrum were interviewed Brazilian culture, like sociologist Gilberto Freire, poet Cora Carolina, and the playwright Alfredo Mesquita. 

In 1984 edition, Tak Show presented by journalist Sílvia Poppovic interviewed the writer Jorge Amado. On the occasion he said something very interesting from an ideological point of view. He declared that at the time of Communist militancy thought with the heads of others. nothing to be surprised if the renowned novelist did not cherish revolutionary ideas, how could PCB deputy in the National Constituent Assembly of 1946 and great admirer of Soviet dictator Josef Stalin. 

As a left-wing intellectual so active in politics confesses that thought with the heads of others? This is not a comfortable situation, even more so for a highly successful writer like Jorge Amado. Then, that's the point: letting yourself be carried away by the opinions of others seems like nothing more who do not have the courage to assert themselves with their own opinion, in what really care about things and life.

 When realizing the great political contradiction that lived, the author of Capitães de Areia and Gabriela Cravo e Canela decided to think authentically, from that moment on, and consequently abandoned the militancy radical ideological. So Amado showed his true greatness. 

I think then of the fate of a significant portion of our youth who is lost in steaming university classrooms and gardens, mainly the public ones. 6 Holders of a perverse cultural "card" of access to the "Clube dos" Owners of the Truth", automatons of cultural Marxism survive in astonishment with the reality that surrounds them, locked in the fetid atmosphere of their rooms. May God breathe on them so that they return to the lives of normal people, and for the joy of their parents.
