A Floresta Amazônica possui 5,5 milhões km2, e a Terra, por sua vez, se estende por 510,1 milhões km2. Isso significa que a floresta equivale a 1% do planeta. A capacidade pulmonar de uma pessoa saudável é de, no mínimo, 80% (*). Agora, imagine você pegar o 1% de presença  da Floresta Amazônica no mundo e dividi-lo por 8 bilhões de habitantes, considerando apenas a espécie humana. 

Muito provavelmente a maioria dos participantes da COP30 2025 ainda acredite na falácia da Amazônia como pulmão do mundo. Então, se cada ser humano saudável precisa de um pulmão  trabalhando a um nível próximo de 100%, porque uma única floresta, localizada no coração de um continente pobre como a América do Sul, pode suprir todo o planeta, representando apenas 1% do mesmo? 

Que interesses estarão por trás de ONGS ambientalistas, sustentadas por milhões de dólares doados por nações ricas e industrializadas, que inclusive já consumiram suas próprias florestas naturais? Em que medida essa semeadura de recursos não espera por resultados vantajosos que lhes sirvam como recompensa no futuro? Estarão realmente comprometidas com o meio-ambiente? 

Todos nós estamos carecas de saber das múltiplas riquezas naturais que tanto o solo, e o subsolo da região Amazônica oferecem. E o ponto crucial é a falta de utilização plena dos países nela inseridos, seja pela incompetência dos governos locais, o baixo grau de industrialização, ou ganância de políticos desonestos que só visam se locupletar às custas de população pobre e ignorante. Na melhor das hipóteses, contudo, como é possível preservar o ambiente sem promover o bem estar daqueles que são seus agentes diretos, a população local?

SCAM30?

The Amazon Rainforest covers 5.5 million km², and the Earth, in turn, extends over 510.1 million km². This means that the forest is equivalent to 1% of the planet (*). The lung capacity of a healthy person is at least 80%. Now, imagine taking the 1% presence of the Amazon Rainforest in the world and dividing it by 8 billion inhabitants, considering only the human species. 

Most likely, the majority of participants at COP30 2025 still believe in the fallacy of the Amazon as the lungs of the world. So, if each healthy human being needs lungs working at a level close to 100%, why can a single forest, located in the heart of a poor continent like South America, supply the entire planet, representing only 1% of it? 

What interests lie behind environmental NGOs, supported by millions of dollars donated by rich and industrialized nations, which have even consumed their own natural forests? To what extent does this sowing of resources not expect advantageous results that will serve as a reward for them in the future? Are they truly committed to the environment?

We are all well aware of the multiple natural riches that both the soil and subsoil of the Amazon region offer. The crucial point is the lack of full utilization by the countries within it, whether due to the incompetence of local governments, the low level of industrialization, or the greed of dishonest politicians who only aim to enrich themselves at the expense of a poor and ignorant population. At best, however, how is it possible to preserve the environment without promoting the well-being of those who are its direct agents, the local population?
