Obs.: Neste artigo, como experiência de linguagem, não faço uso de vírgula, ponto parágrafo ou final: substituo-os por espaços. Talvez, um dia, eles possam ser abolidos de nossa gramática, por se tornar obsoleto o uso dos mesmos.

Qual foi a última vez que você enviou ou recebeu uma carta? Nem se lembra mais  não é mesmo? Se  quando eu era criança  Roberto Carlos já sentenciava que "cartas já não adiantam mais  quero ouvir a sua voz"  que dirá hoje   com o advento da Internet e o império do Facebook!

Muitos de vocês   na verdade   nunca escreveram ou receberam uma carta sequer   Em sua grande maioria   os jovens só sabem que os Correios existem porque compram mercadorias em sites e depois as recebem confortavelmente em casa

Antigamente  a carta foi importante na vida de muitos namorados  Também mantinha unidas pessoas separadas pela distância e que sonhavam se ver novamente  É um simples papel  com ou sem pautas  que trazia escrito palavras de alegria  tristeza ou esperança aos corações saudosos

Muitas vezes  a carta transmitia um sentimento tão precioso quanto valeria para um escravo a carta de alforria  Tal é a nobreza que a palavra escrita traduz  Diferente da palavra falada que é fugaz esquecível  e pode voltar atrás

A carta  historicamente  é usada com diferentes propósitos políticos ou conotativos Temos a Carta Capital  a Carta Testamento  a carta marcada  a carta-bomba e a última cartada Sem falar nos bilhetinhos que o presidente Jânio Quadros usava para governar o Brasil  no alvorecer dos anos 1960

Se você quiser dizer a verdade a alguém  com a esperança de não ofender evite falar  Falar poucas palavras para elogiar é perfeito  mas para fazer uma pessoa aceitar uma crítica  é melhor escrever  Na carta  você se alonga o bastante nas palavras até ao ponto de estar certo que vai ser compreendido   Isso vale na Internet também  Depois  é só manter-se a uma distância segura do destinatário e aguardar a resposta 

O filósofo canadense Marshall McLuhan afirmou que o meio é a mensagem  Hoje você pode escrever bonitas palavras para a pessoa amada  em uma mensagem de e-mail dispondo de mil e um recursos como cartões-postais virtuais e vídeos  sem conseguir  contudo  ser romântico  A carta  porém  por ser vintage – ao trazer de volta o charme das coisas boas que ficaram no passado – restaura o romantismo aquele fator inusitado que surpreende o coração das pessoas

Refletir sobre a importância que teve a carta na sociedade  me permitiu viajar no tempo  por mais de quatro décadas ao passado quando ainda nem o telefone tinha conquistado de vez o cotidiano das pessoas quanto menos a Internet  Pura nostalgia  e  porque não dizer: poesia?

Há! Escrever cartas também emagrece  Além de romântico  é saudável leva-la até a agência mais próxima dos Correios  Depois  para entrega ao destinatário  o Carteiro que o diga  em suas longas caminhadas pelas ruas da cidade  e isso apenas  quando não tem de correr perseguido por um cachorro mal humorado

When was the last time you sent or received a letter? You don't even remember anymore, do you? If, when I was a child, “the letter is no longer useful, I want to hear your voice”, that will say today with the advent of the Internet and the Facebook empire! 

Many of you have never actually written or received a letter. Most young people only know that the Post Office exists because they buy goods on websites and then receive them comfortably at home. 

In the past, the letter was important in the lives of many boyfriends It also kept people separated by distance and who dreamed of seeing each other again. It is a simple paper with or without guidelines that brought words of joy, sadness or hope to the homesick hearts
