Com uma convincente vitória de 3 a 0, a seleção argentina estreiou ontem contra a Argélia, na Copa do Mundo FIFA 2026, às 20h(22h de Brasília), no Arrowhead Stadium, em Kanzas City, Missouri, América. 

O time comandado por Lionel Messi, que fez todos os gols da partida, passou a impressão de que não precisava provar nada prá ninguém, e que só veio para passear mesmo. Sem um mínimo de arrogância, e com a naturalidade de quem come seu feijão com arroz cotidiano, apresentou um futebol de equipe soberbo. 

Tudo parecia uma diversão descontraída no parquinho da infantilidade de passes perdidos entre os jogadores, o que nem de longe chegou a prejudicar a produtividade do grupo.

Longe de individualismos destoantes, contudo, a união dos jogadores argentinos era tal que deu para perceber claramente que jogavam em função de Messi que por sua vez não decepcionou. Todos pareciam colaborar para que ele quebrasse dois recordes mundiais em uma só cajadada. De fato, o time conseguiu. 

Lionel tornou-se um dos três jogadores que mais participaram de Copas do Mundo, ao lado do português,  Cristiano Ronaldo, e do mexicano, Guilhermo Ochoa (os quais estiveram presentes nas seis últimas edições, de 2006 a 2026); também conquistou o patamar de maior artilheiro da competição na história, com 16 gol, ao lado do alemão Miroslav Klose. 

Se a Argentina já na primeira partida mostrou com classe que não precisa provar nada prá ninguém, cabe agora aos adversários entenderem que ela também não está para brincadeira. É só esperar para ver.

Football in Tango Rhythm

With a convincing 3-0 victory, the Argentine national team debuted yesterday against Algeria in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, at 8 pm (10 pm Brasília time), at Arrowhead Stadium, in Kansas City, Missouri, America. 

The team led by Lionel Messi, who scored all the goals in the match, gave the impression that they didn't need to prove anything to anyone, and that they were just there for a stroll. Without the slightest arrogance, and with the naturalness of someone eating their daily rice and beans, they presented superb team football. 

Everything seemed like relaxed fun in the playground of childish, misplaced passes between players, which didn't even come close to harming the group's productivity. 

Far from any discordant individualism, however, the unity of the Argentine players was such that it was clear they were playing for Messi, who in turn did not disappoint. Everyone seemed to collaborate so that he could break two world records in one fell swoop. In fact, the team succeeded.

Lionel became one of the three players with the most appearances in World Cups, alongside Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo and Mexico's Guillermo Ochoa (who were present in the last six editions, from 2006 to 2026); he also achieved the status of top scorer in the competition's history, with 16 goals, alongside Germany's Miroslav Klose.

If Argentina showed with class in the first match that it doesn't need to prove anything to anyone, it's now up to its opponents to understand that it's not messing around either. Just wait and see.
