Hoje, 12 de julho de 2020, Lauro de Freitas ocupa, proporcionalmente, o terceiro lugar entre as cidades baianas, em casos de COVID-19, superando até a capital, Salvador, de acordo com a SESUB-Secretaria de Saúde do Estado.

O Toque de Recolher implantado repetidamente na cidade não serve para nada, a não ser para a prefeita Moema Gramacho dizer que está mostrando "serviço". Ela finge que está controlando a pandemia, mas a BA 99, que corta a cidade ao meio, tem um fluxo muito grande, e pensar em barra-lo com o rigor real de um toque de recolher - que começa às 18h (no pico da movimentação de veículos) - seria desastroso, pelo engarrafamento gigantesco, e revolta, que causaria. Mas isso Moema não está disposta a encarar. Ainda bem.

Em meio a esse circo de incompetência - na melhor das hipóteses, misto de medo e despreparo - só os munícipes conscientes levam a sério os cuidados realmente necessários, no combate à pandemia. Cuidados esses que toda a população deveria tomar, livremente, sem cerceamento de liberdade, mas suprida de bastante informação e instrução. Mas, claro, punindo com os rigores da lei os que agem irresponsavelmente em relação à saúde coletiva da população.

Sabemos, contudo, que a responsabilidade pelas aglomerações monstruosas e diárias nos transportes públicos da cidade é exclusivamente da prefeita. O povo, nesse caso, não tem culpa. Pelo contrário, é vítima, como ovelhas levadas ao matadouro, sem ter quem as livre. Dessa forma, não se pode tapar o Sol com a peneira, ou conter o surto de corona vírus pela cidade.

Today, July 12, 2020, Lauro de Freitas occupies, proportionally, the third place among the Bahian cities, in cases of COVID-19, surpassing even the capital, Salvador, according to the SESUB-State Health Secretariat.

The "Toque de Recolh" implanted repeatedly in the city is useless, except for Mayor Moema Gramacho to say that she is showing "service". She pretends that she is controlling the pandemic, but BA 99, which cuts the city in half, has a very large flow, and thinking about barring it with the real rigor of a curfew - which starts at 6 pm (at the peak of movement of vehicles) - it would be disastrous, due to the gigantic traffic jam, and revolt it would cause. But that Moema is not willing to face. I'm glad.

In the midst of this circus of incompetence - at best, mixed with fear and unpreparedness - only conscientious citizens take seriously the care really necessary in combating the pandemic. Care that the entire population should take, freely, without restricting freedom, but provided with enough information and instruction. But, of course, punishing those who act irresponsibly in relation to the collective health of the population with the rigors of the law.

We know, however, that the responsibility for the monstrous and daily agglomerations in the city's public transport lies exclusively with the mayor. In this case, the people are not to blame. On the contrary, it is a victim, like sheep taken to the slaughterhouse, with no one to free them. Thus, you cannot cover the sun with a sieve, or contain the outbreak of the corona virus in the city.
